Minimum class size of 4, max 12, for all pistol courses.
Required Equipment: Pistol (Semi-Auto Recommended) with minimum of 3 mags, 400 rounds of appropriate ammo (No steel core, Armor Piercing, Tracer, Incendiary). Pistol belt/ ‘War Belt’ or belt with holster and ability to store magazines. Closed toed shoes (hiking or ‘Trail’ type footwear recommended). Full Leg Pants (Jeans, Canvas, or similar recommended) Eye and Ear Protection (We have some available for rent for $15).
Plate Carrier, Chest-rig, Dump Pouch, IFAK/Medical Kit, Tourniquets, ’Low-Profile Carry’ Bags (Such as VERTX or similar) are optional but can be used to enhance training.
Bring Lunch, we will break for 1 hour for lunch, however there is no food nearby. Instructor will have water, and some first aid and trauma aid items on hand, but it is recommended you bring water and any required medications you may need (such as a Asthma Medication) Appropriate Attire for weather conditions, such as jackets, hats, sunglasses, gloves.

Required Equipment: Rifle/Carbine (.223 to Short Action .30 caliber. AR-15/AR-10 type recommended) Rifle Sling, Optic, and any additional equipment you wish to train with (such as lasers, lights) 600 rounds of appropriate ammo (No Steel Case, No Steel Core, No Armor Pierceing, No Tracers, No Incendiary, etc. If a magnet sticks, it cannot be used) Chest Rig, Plate Carrier, and/or ‘’War’/Gun Belt with the ability to store 3 magazines, 3 appropriate magazines is highly recommended, Ear and Eye Protection (Available for rent, $15) Closed toed shoes or boots (Hiking or similar recommended), and full leg pants.
Additional Equipment required for the Intermediate and Advanced Course: Gun Belt or Belt with ability to store 2 pistol magazines, Semi-Automatic Pistol with 3 magazines and 200 rounds of appropriate ammo. Concealed carry type pouches and holster are also fine.
Recommended: Gloves, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Hat, Wet/Cold Weather Attire (As needed), Water, Snacks, Medical Equipment (IFAK, etc), Speed Loader, Low Profile bags.
Min Class size 4, Max size 12. This Course covers three, eight hour days of training, for all Precision Rifle Courses.
Required Equipment: Rifle chambered in .223 to long action .30 caliber (.338 or smaller, max Muzzle Velocity of 3200fps) with optic, 400 rounds of quality/match ammunition (No Steel Case, Steel Core, Armor Piercing, Tracer, Etc. If its magnetic, it’s a No Go) and sling. Bipod, and/or Shooting bags, Ear and Eye Protection (available for rent, $15), Full leg pants, closed toed trail/hiking boots or shoes. Shooting Mat (available for rent for $15). Applied Ballistics software and/or an Anemometer(Kestrel) is required for the Intermediate and Advanced Courses, and recommended for the Basic Course, to get the most out of the class. Instructor will also have these two items on hand for students to observe. In the basic course. Applied Ballistics is available on both the iOS and Android app stores, for less than a box of Match .300WM, and is an invaluable addition to your toolbox. Other ballistics software is also allowed, however class will focus on Applied Ballistics on iOS
Pen/Pencil, Notebook or ‘DOPE’ book, calculator (cell phone works).
Additional gear required for Intermediate and Advanced Courses:
Tripod, Spotting Scope, Shooting Bags, ‘Scope Level’, DOPE Book. Assault Pack/Ruck (with scabbard or a ‘Drag Bag’)
It is HIGHLY recommended you have a more modern style First Focal Plane (FFP) optic, that has a Milradian or MOA based reticle* and .1mil or 1/4MOA adjustments respectively. Ammo also should be of ‘Match’ quality for best results.
(*Such as the Tremor series reticles, or the M.O.A.R for example)

Recommended: Shooting Sticks, Gloves, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Hat, Wet/Cold Weather Attire (As needed), Water, Snacks, Lensatic Compass, Chronometer (Instructor will have a Magneto Speed on hand)
1 hour break for lunch during day long, or multi day courses, bring your lunch as there is no food nearby. It is recommended you bring a cooler for your food during summer. Water is STRONGLY recommended. Instructor will have extra water on hand for emergencies. Instructor will also have a Trauma Aid bags and some basic First Aid. Please bring any medications you require such as allergy medication.
Smoking in non-designated areas, Drinking Alchohol, or being under the influence of THC or illicit substances, or prescription drugs that impair your ability to drive, or operate machinery, will not be tolerated. Anyone caught doing this will be removed from the class, be banned from all future Sierra Marksmanship and Defense classes, and banned from the range facility.
A 4x4 or similar vehicle is recommended if possible as many of the roads to the ranges are dirt, and have variable maintenance. For LR courses it is almost a requirement. If you need to coordinate a ride, let us know And we will resolve it.
Course cancelations less than one (1) weeks in advance will result in no refund. Students may change classes, but if the change occurs less than 1 week before the originally scheduled class date, your deposit will not be refunded, and you will still be required to pay the deposit for the new class. Private instruction may be cancelled up to 3 days prior with no penalty, within 3 days will only receive a 60% refund. Students who are disrespectful or disruptive, to any instructors, staff, other students, or range facilities staff will be removed with no refund. Students who arrive to training lacking the required equipment, that results in inhibiting training, will be removed, with no refunds.
Weather may inhibit the ability for certain classes to occur due to the distances and terrain required for long range engagements. In the event of in-climate weather, the class will be be refunded or re-scheduled at our discretion. We will make every attempt to continue to train or reschedule. Unless it is physically impossible to reach the range or the facility is closed we will strive to continue to train, regardless of climate., this is part of the experience. Any courses or private instruction that is cancelled by Sierra Marksmanship and Defense due to other reasons outside of the students responsibility will be refunded in full.

*Unless otherwise noted, all classes are a Great Guns Sporting in Nunn, Co. Long range classes are the exception, location will be given out with course confirmation* Sierra Marksmanship teaches the Skills, Techniques, and Tactics that have withstood the challenge of some of the harshest conflicts in a variety of environments around the world.
That being understood, all students in our “Defensive/Tactical” group classes must be able to conduct moderate physical exercise throughout the day. (Running, Jogging, Going from standing to prone and back, Kneeling, Carry up to 35lbs for short distances, hold a rifle or pistol up and safely for extended periods) Consult your physician if you have any concerns. If you have a disability, or medical condition but still would like to train please do not hesitate to contact us, and we can accommodate you to the best of our ability. We understand there are a great variety of people of all ages that wish to train and our private lessons are open to all valid US Persons.. Sierra offers no refunds for students who are unable to complete the course once begun. Students must be 21 years old for pistol and 18 for long guns, and valid U.S. Person, and legally be allowed to posses a firearm. All required gear is MANDATORY unless otherwise noted. Failure to bring your equipment may result in decreased training performance and wasted time, or even inhibit training. Students who cannot complete training due to equipment, or due to safety or disrespectful behaviors will be removed from class and will receive no refunds.
